October 6, 2008: The lake is 4 feet above normal. The wind kicked up yesterday and ran everyone off the lake. It is still rough this morning. Still success with catfish on juglines with shad or perch and drifting along the channel as well as in the flats north of the bridge. Sand bass can still be found along the rocks. Thursday a fisherman told me he caught a dozen crappie off the bridge, including a couple that were 12" long at least, verifying the report from Sunday that  crappie were plentiful again, found in flooded timber at about 14 feet, mostly on minnows. Gene and Justin caught 21 nice blues off juglines Tuesday and Randy and his pal Ron brought in 8 nice blues and a 45 pound flathead last Friday.

The bait shop is closed for the season as of Monday, October 6th. The ramp is open weather permitting, please park responsibly so others can also park. The rv park is open year round and we have rv sites available for those sportsmen that need a place to get away and be close to the action (or away from the home fromt!). Tell anyone you know that is looking for such a hunting or fishing get-away spot to set up their trailer permanent! We also still allow weekend and week long stays, contrary to what I hear is being rumored around the area. Just leave a message on the phone (918) 275-4719 or an email. We will get back to you.
Thank you.
